Joey Bartz Principal

It is an honor and a privilege to be at South Beauregard High School.  I pride myself in encouraging your children to get excited about learning.

A little about the me:

I was in the military for five years, and was fortunate enough to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, but I was even more fortunate to receive an A.A. from Central Texas College, a B.S. from Upper Iowa University.  Once I exited the service in 2009, I went back to school and earned two Master’s degrees, one from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) and another from Louisiana College.  I am currently working on my doctorate degree.

I have been living in Beauregard Parish for the past nine years.  My passion is social studies, more specifically, military history.  I feel like teaching, coaching, and mentoring is my calling in life.

Personally, my life revolves around my wife of 13 years and my two children, Maili(pronounced Miley) and Caden.  In my spare time, I am an avid reader; often times reading two or three books at any given time.  I love all sports, which is why I coached football, track and softball, but my passion is baseball(even though I refused to coach it).  I belong to SABR(Society for American Baseball Research) and love writing about baseball and statistics.
