There will be a JH dance this Friday, April 27th in the HS cafeteria from 7-10.  The cost is $5 per person.  Refreshments will be sold for $1.  We hope to see you there!

If you would like to purchase a BBQ Bag lunch for $6 for May 7th please see Antoinette Landry in Mrs. Chaumont’s room

Congratulations to Katherine Moss and Judd Morrison for placing in the top ten in their events at the high school rodeo held this past weekend in New Iberia. Katherine placed 6th in goat tying and was 7th in breakaway roping. Judd won the boys goat tying, was 2nd in chute dogging and 2nd in team roping. Judd is currently ranked first in the state in boys goat tying. Only one qualifying rodeo remains to amass points for the state finals.  

8th grade students planning to attend the field trip to Baton Rouge with Mr. Boswell must have their permission slips turned into him by this Friday, April 27th.

Big Brothers/Big sisters will be meeting today in the auditorium during 3rd hour.  Testing will be continuing today so you will not be called out. 

NO sports balls are to be brought from home, including tennis balls.

Students you are NOT allowed to stay in your vehicles once you arrive on campus.You will have consequences.

Temporary IDs are due at the end of the dayYou will have lunch detention if you do not return them the day you check out the ID.

Bus notes must be turned in the high school office before 3rd hour.

Students that drive, there is now a line painted across the parking lot.  The East side of the orange line is for faculty and staff ONLY!  The west side and along the purple fence is for students.  Lunch detentions will be given for no pass and parking in the wrong area. 

Students if you leave campus without permission or return to campus without signing in, you will be suspended! You must be in FULL dress code if you return as a visitor.   You cannot leave campus for lunch.  There are to be NO lunch deliveries made by students.   All outside food must be brought to the high school office. 

Students blankets are NOT allowed under any circumstance!  Sweatpants, wind pants, or any form of pants being worn over the uniform shorts are not allowed once the morning bell rings. 

Please come by the HS office to check lost and found.  Several items have been turned in.  

Students DO NOT park in front of the NO PARKING SIGNS!

Reminder, do NOT tape or glue advertisements, banners, or posters to the walls.   They can be placed on doors, or your bulletin boards.

Rodeo Team members your action photos are due to Miss Reeves no later than this Friday. If you want your picture on the rodeo page you must get them turned in.

HomeworkLouisiana (HomeworkLa.org), a service of the State Library of Louisiana, offers FREE online tutoring and academic resources from tutor.com for Louisiana residents from kindergarten students through adult learners. Get help in math, science, social studies or English from a live tutor. The services can be accessed from a Louisiana public library, from your home computer or from your mobile device.

Sports

Knights will host Port Barre in the 1st round of playoffs @ 6:00pm.  All students that attend with a school ID will receive free hamburgers.  The hamburgers are being provided by the baseball booster club.  Come out and support your KNIGHTS. 

 

- 2018/2019 Lady K Soccer Signups - 

Any girls that are going to grades 7-12 next school year who are interested in playing for the Lady K's Soccer team next season need to come by the high school or junior high offices and sign up.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Art Institute Scholarships:  Awards scholarships to eligible students who are interested in pursuing a degree in the creative and applied arts.  Apply online at www.artinstitutes.edu

Dave and Jeannie Price Scholarship:  must be pursuing an undergraduate business degree at LSU or the University of Missouri.  Apply online at www.braf.org.  Deadline:  May 1, 2018.

Al’s Formal Wear Scholarship:  Two scholarships valued at $1000 are awarded each year.  Apply online at www.alsformalwear.com/SchoolApp.  Deadline:  May 1, 2018.

Thurgood Marshall Scholarships:  Four-year merit based scholarships to graduating seniors attending historically black public colleges and universities.  Applicants must be entering college freshman, have a minimum ACT score of 25, 3.0 GPA and a full-time student.  Deadline:  May 15, 2018.

Big Sun Scholarship:  High school athletes are eligible for this award regardless of which sport they are participating.  Applicants must submit a short (500 words or less) essay describing why you should be the winner of this award.  Submit essay to athleticawards@bigsunathletics.com.  For more information, go to www.bigsunathletics.com   Deadline:  June 19, 2018.

SENIORS:  FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Assistance) is now open.  This is the only application for TOPS, grants, loans, parent loans and work study for financial assistance for college and technical school for the 2017-18 academic year.  Get your FAFSA filled out as soon as possible.  www.fafsa.gov
