Congratulations to our teachers of the year!  Junior High is Mr. Duncan Crain and High school is Mrs. Sharon Chaumont.  Congratulations!!!

The Junior  high office will be selling retired purple or white football jerseys for $10.   

Students scoring a 21 or higher during the testing months of December – March can have their ACT testing fee reimbursed.  See Mrs. Martin for any questions or reimbursement

Students during break and high school lunch you are not allowed to stand the porch by the vending machines outside the cafeteria or in the walkway between the cafeteria and doors entering the high school building. 

Student you are not to stand in the covered walkways by the jr high gym and cafeteria.   You can stand in the courtyard only. 

Please check the HS Office for lost and found items. 

SBHS will now be offering after school tutoring for English I & II and ACT Prep for Reading/English. This will be at ZERO cost to the student. Tutoring will be from 3:15 to 4:15 on Mondays and Wednesdays in High School Room 209. StuCo will be selling hot chocolate today before school, during break, and at lunch. It is $3/cup for a really good cause.

The JROTC Department will be conducting our annual Christmas care package drive for the Lighthouse Ministries located in Reeves, La. All items donated need to be dropped off at the JROTC Department.  

If you are interested in a Millwright class, please see Mrs. Hungerford.   It would be offered on Wednesday and Thursday nights so as not to interfere with the Welding classes. 

Our final Gold Card Redemption for 2018 will be on Tuesday, Dec. 18, before school in the cafeteria.  We will have our usual rewards, plus some great prizes to draw for. Start gathering your Gold Cards! Teachers we will be sending you a list in the near future of rewards that you can post in your classrooms.

Angel tree donations are being accepted in the HS office and Mrs. Gisclairs room. 

Student of the year essays and meeting will begin @ 8 in the cafeteria.  The interview will be on October 12th beginning @ 8:00.

2018 Yearbooks will be distributed today during HS Break in front of the JH gym.  A list of those who purchased is posted outside the cafeteria.

Interact will be accepting Operation Christmas child toys and entertainment items that are able to fit in a shoe box.  Examples of items are: coloring books, crayons, cards, socks, headbands, small sports balls.  Interact members are asking students to donate items to help other children have an amazing Christmas. 

Lunch meeting for HOSA Members, the University of Monroe School of Pharmacy will be here on Thursday December 13.  Bring your own lunch and meet in Mrs. Gisclair's classroom.

Homework Assistance Program-

HomeworkLouisiana (, a service of the State Library of Louisiana, offers FREE online tutoring and academic resources from for Louisiana residents from kindergarten students through adult learners. Get help in math, science, social studies or English from a live tutor. The services can be accessed from a Louisiana public library, from your home computer or from your mobile device.

The attached Scholarship is for a student going into Criminal Justice or Business Administration Program at an accredited university, junior college or vocational/technical school.  Applications are due by April 1, 2019.



SENIORS:  FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Assistance) is now open.  This is the only application for TOPS, grants, loans, parent loans and work study for financial assistance for college and technical school for the 2018-19 academic year.  Get your FAFSA filled out as soon as possible.
